The owner of a 2015 Mazda CX9 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from his residence in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mazda.

Within 8 minutes, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mazda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mazda to a residential neighborhood located in the 2300 block of Soto Street in San Diego.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mazda CX9 in May 2015 at Wayne Mazda in New Jersey.
