The owner of a Honda Accord contacted the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department to report that his vehicle was stolen from his residence in the city of Vista.

The San Diego County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

A short while later, deputies from the San Diego County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Honda to a residential neighborhood located in the 1400 block of Sunset Drive in Vista. A traffic stop was made and three suspects were arrested for vehicle theft and possession of stolen property.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda Accord in May 1995 as a Direct Customer in Edison, New Jersey.
