The owners of a 2004 Ford F350 pickup contacted the San Antonio Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence sometime during the overnight period.

The San Antonio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford F350.

A short while later officers from the San Antonio PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to a residential area near the southeast side of downtown San Antonio. The pickup was parked and abandoned on a public street. Officers processed the Ford for prints and released it back to the owner. The pickup sustained minor door entry and ignition damage only.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F350 in April 2011 at Creacom in Houston, Texas.
