The owners of a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen by strong armed robbery. While they were parked in a shopping mall a subject walked up to the Chevrolet, demanded their keys and personal belongings. The owner complied and called 911 making a theft report.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to an apartment complex parking lot on 7300 Corporate Drive. The Chevrolet was parked on the west side of the complex parking lot. The driver’s side window was broken and personal items were missing. Due to rain the SUV was not processed for prints. The Chevrolet was stored pending owner notification. No suspects.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Trailblazer in September 2003 at Davis Chevrolet GEO in Houston, Texas.
