The owner of a 2003 Toyota 4Runner called the Albuquerque Police Department to report the vehicle as stolen.  The owner advised the Toyota was parked at their apartment complex parking lot located in the area of Central and Morningside in the Southeast Area Command.  The Albuquerque PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A vehicle equipped with a LoJack Police Tracking Computer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota.  Following the audible and directional cues from the PTC, the Toyota was tracked to an apartment complex parking lot located in the area of Zuni and Alvarado.  Officers with the Albuquerque PD observed the Toyota backed into a parking space and unoccupied.  The Toyota was recovered approximately two miles away from the original theft location.
