The owners of a 2007 BMW X3 contacted the Cobb County Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the driveway during the night.

The Cobb County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the BMW. A short while later officers from the Cobb County PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen BMW with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the BMW to an apartment complex where the officer spotted the stolen BMW parked with no one around it.

After pulling back to watch the vehicle for someone to return, the BMW was towed to a local lot for safe keeping.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2007 BMW X3 in June 2007 at Nalley BMW in Decatur, Georgia.
