The owner of a 2001 Case 95XT Skid Steer contacted the Glenview Public Safety Department, Illinois, to report that a Case 95XT Skid Steer was missing from his worksite on the 400 block of Green Bay Road in Highland Park. The owner determined that the skid steer had last been seen a week before. The Highland Park Police on scene of theft verified facts as presented and entered the Case 95XT into the federal and state database as stolen which automatically sent a signal to the LoJack unit hidden within the stolen Case Skid Steer causing it to activate.

Minutes after the unit was activated the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Deputies picked up the audible and directional signals being broadcast from the LoJack unit concealed within the stolen Case on Russell Road near Route 41. Following the audible and directional signal being broadcast, the Lake County Deputies tracked the stolen Case into Racine County, Wisconsin. The stolen Case was discovered about a mile over the border in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. The stolen Case had been secreted off County Highway H about a half mile back in the woods.
