The owners of a Diamond-C construction trailer contacted the Adams County Sheriff’s Office and reported that one of their trailers had been stolen from a construction site during the night time. A deputy verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the trailer.
The silent LoJack signal were picked up by deputies with the Adams County SO with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTCs, the deputies tracked the trailer to an area just off I-76 in Lochbuie.
The trailer was recovered undamaged 22 miles away from where it was stolen. The investigation is being continued by the Adams County SO.
The owner of the construction company later said “I’m here to tell you this (LoJack) is a good deal, I’m happy” for the prompt recovery of this essential and very expensive piece of equipment.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Diamond-C trailer in 2015 for this commercial customer.
