The owner of the Ford E250 parked his van by his house where he normally parks it. When he came out for it the next morning he found it missing. This was in the Cross Bronx section of the Bronx, confines of the 48 precinct.  He immediately called the New York Police Department of the 48 precinct.

When the NYPD officers arrived, they took a written report for the stolen E250.  This information was then entered by the NYPD in the city, state and federal crime computer which automatically activated the LoJack® System in the stolen Ford E250.

A short while later the silent LoJack signal was picked up on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) by members of the Bronx Auto Larceny Unit. This was in the South Bronx section of the Bronx, confines of the 43 precinct. The Ford was tracked to a residential section of the South Bronx. The Ford was located parked in a residential area. The officers staked the Ford out for several hours; however when no one showed up for the vehicle the NYPD took it into custody. The Ford was recovered in good condition with minor damage, ignition only.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his Ford was recovered so quickly, saying that he was lucky that the LoJack was installed when he bought the vehicle. Otherwise it may have not been recovered so quickly.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2006 Ford E250 on October 2005 at Bronx Ford in New York.
