The owner of a 2004 Nissan Armada contacted the Merrillville Police Department, Indiana, to report his vehicle stolen. The Merrillville PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Minutes after the Nissan was activated officers from the Chicago Police Department’s helicopter unit, Illinois State Police and the Calumet City Police Department picked up the silent and directional signal being broadcast from the LoJack unit concealed within the stolen Nissan.  The Calumet City PD following the silent LoJack signal tracked the Nissan to its location within their suburb, recovered it parked and unoccupied.

The Merrillville PD was notified and towed the Nissan to their station for processing.  Police investigation into this vehicle’s theft and recovery continues. Due to the LoJack installed within the Nissan the vehicle was recovered within hours of it being stolen and returned to a grateful owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Armada in November 2003 at Difeo Nissan in Jersey City, New Jersey.
