The owner of a Ford F150 pickup contacted the Austin Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner went to work and parked his Ford in the parking lot. When he returned to it, he found it missing.

The Austin PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Later, officers from the Austin PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Ford pickup to 7600 block of E Ben White Blvd, where they found it parked behind a restaurant. The Ford pickup had minor damage to the driver’s side door lock, but otherwise was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F150 in April 2015 at Leif Johnson Ford in Austin, Texas.
