The owners of a Lincoln Navigator were confronted by an armed gunman who stole their car. The owners complied and the suspect drove away.

The victims of the robbery notified the Murray Police Department and a police officer verified the crimes and had the vehicle information promptly entered into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lincoln.

Within the hour an officer with the Tooele Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lincoln with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) installed in his patrol car.
Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer, now assisted by other Tooele PD officers and deputies from the Tooele County Sheriff’s Office, tracked and located the Lincoln as it was being driven on Main Street in Tooele. A felony traffic stop was initiated and the suspect taken into custody. The Lincoln was recovered undamaged less than an hour after it had been stolen and was returned to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lincoln Navigator in February 2004 at Lincoln Mercury Northside Scottsdale in Phoenix, Arizona.
