The owners of a 2015 Melroe Skid Steer front loader contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their loader was stolen sometime during the previous week end from the work site on Moers Road South of Hobby Airport.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Melroe skid steer loader.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Melroe skid steer with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the loader to a residential neighborhood where it was parked and abandoned on a dead end street. Witnesses advised officers the loader was parked there when they awoke. The loader was returned to the grateful owner in good shape.
