The owners of a 2007 Nissan Quest contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The owner said that the Nissan was parked in the grocery store parking lot the night before and when they returned the next day, the vehicle was missing.

The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Four minutes later troopers from the Arizona Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers tracked the Nissan to the area of 19th Avenue and Indian School Road in Phoenix.

The Nissan was located unoccupied in a business parking lot not far from the theft location. Detectives from the Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force responded and conducted surveillance on the Nissan. No suspects were observed near the Nissan. The Nissan was later recovered in good condition and returned to the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Quest in December 2006 at West Valley Nissan in Glendale, Arizona.
