The owners of a 2015 Toyota Corolla contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from them by strong arm robbery. Two males approached the owner in their apartment parking lot in the 9200 block of Clarewood Dr. and demanded the keys to their Toyota. The owner complied, fled the location and called 911.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Corolla.

A short while later deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota Corolla with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the deputies tracked the Toyota to 17600 block of Wolf Hollow in Harris County. Deputies towed the Toyota to the Harris County SD impound for evidence processing and notified the Houston PD of the recovery. The Toyota did not sustain any damage and was listed as in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Corolla in January 2016 at Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston, Texas.
