The owners of a 2006 Ford F350 pickup contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence in the 7500 Plum Creek Dr.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford pickup.

A short while later a K-9 officer from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the signal to a residence in the 7200 block of Narcissus St. Houston, Harris County, Texas. The officer spoke to the resident who informed him that the Ford was parked in front of his home by a subject he knew that lived in the rear of his residence in an apartment located on his property. Officers went to the apartment and questioned the occupant. While searching the suspect for weapons a prescription bottle containing crack cocaine was found in his pocket. The suspect was arrested and charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F350 in October 2006 at Champion Ford Gulf Freeway in Houston, Texas.
