The owner of a 2008 Lexus L570 contacted the Dallas Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner parked his Lexus in his driveway and when he returned to it, found it missing. The owner had left a spare key in the center console.

The Dallas PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

Later, officers from the Dallas PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Lexus to an apartment complex in the 200 block of E. Overton Rd, where they found it abandoned in the parking lot. This Lexus was recovered in good condition. Officers are reviewing video from the apartment parking lot to see if a suspect can be identified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus L570 in February 2008 at Sewell Lexus in Dallas, Texas.
