The owners of a 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe contacted the Harris County Constable Department Precinct 4 to report that their vehicle was stolen from their apartment parking lot during the overnight period.
The Harris County Constable Pct. 4 verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

A short while later troopers from the Texas Department of Public Safety picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the troopers located the Tahoe parked and abandoned in a large apartment parking lot. The Tahoe was backed into a parking spot with the front tag removed. The Harris County Pct. 4 was notified and the Tahoe was stored until the owner could be located. The Tahoe was in good condition with only minor entry damage and ignition damage.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Tahoe in February 2005 at Allen Samuels Chevy Oldsmobile in Houston, Texas.
