The owners of a 2010 Toyota Highlander contacted the West University Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their driveway during the overnight period.
The West University PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota Highlander.

A short while later officers from the Houston Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota Highlander with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to a retail strip center parking lot. Officers set up a brief surveillance on the Toyota with negative results. The West University PD officers came to the location and processed the Toyota for evidence and returned the Highlander to the grateful owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Highlander in May 2010 at Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston, Texas.
