The owners of a 2005 GMC Yukon contacted the South Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a restaurant parking lot while they were having dinner. When they went to leave the Yukon was missing from the parking lot.

The South Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Yukon.

A short while later officers from the Houston Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen GMC with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Yukon to an apartment parking lot where the vehicle was parked and abandoned. The owner was notified and the Yukon released into his custody. The South Houston PD was notified and the Yukon was cleared. The Yukon was in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the GMC Yukon in September 2005 at Beck and Masten Pontiac North in Houston, Texas.
