The owners of a Ford F-350 pickup truck contacted the Aurora Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

A short while later officers with the Westminster Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen truck with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to 71st and Depew where the vehicle was found abandoned. It was returned to the owners undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-350 in August 2006 at SilTerHar Motors in Broomfield, Colorado.
