The owners of a Hummer H2 contacted the Denver Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen. A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers. This routine action automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Hummer.

A short while later officers with the Sheridan and Englewood Police Departments picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Hummer with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Hummer to an apartment building near Bannock and West Belleview. The Hummer was abandoned and was recovered undamaged. It was later returned to the very happy owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Hummer H2 in July 2005 at Sewell Mini of Plano in Texas.
