The owner of a 2010 Toyota Matrix contacted the Garfield Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen.  The customer told police that while he was making a Chinese Food delivery in the town of Garfield, he left his car running and someone took the Toyota.

The Garfield PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short while later, officer’s from the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Toyota to Carroll Street in the City of Paterson, where the vehicle was found parked. The Toyota was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2010 Toyota Matrix in November 2009 at Shore Toyota Inc. in Mays Landing, New Jersey.
