The owner of a 2014 Honda Accord contacted the Newark Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. He reported that while he was getting out of his Honda on Ferry Street in the City of Newark, two men attacked him, forced him to the ground and took his valuables. They also took the keys to his Honda and then drove off with his Honda.

The Newark PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda Accord.

A short while later, officers from the Essex County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal coming from the stolen Honda, with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to South Street in the City of Newark, where the vehicle was found parked. The Honda was recovered undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2014 Honda Accord in June 2014 at Route 22 Honda in Hillside, New Jersey.
