The owners of a 2012 Honda CRV contacted the Smyrna Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from the driveway sometime during the night.

The Smyrna PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda CRV.

A short while later a Georgia State Patrol trooper on regular patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to an abandoned house where it was found abandoned and in good condition.

A detective was called to the scene to process the Honda for possible prints and arrest. There were no suspects at the time of recovery. The Honda was in very good condition. The detective also thought it may have been hidden there before moving on to another location.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Honda CRV in July 2012 at Hennessy Honda in Woodstock Georgia.
