The owner of a 2005 Freightliner M2 box truck discovered their truck missing from a community parking lot in North Fort Myers. They contacted the Lee County Sheriff’s Office to report their vehicle stolen. The responding deputy prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Shortly thereafter, while on routine patrol, a Lee County SO deputy picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Freightliner M2 truck on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The deputy began tracking the stolen box truck by following the directional and audible cues on the PTC screen. The deputy, along with their backup, located the box truck in truck storage facility. The truck was recovered with no apparent theft damage, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Freightliner M2 box truck in June 2008 at Lawrenceville, Georgia.
