The owner of a 2008 Lexus ES350 contacted the San Diego Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen in the city of San Diego.

The San Diego PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

Within a few minutes, officers from the San Diego PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to a commercial area of the Otay U.S./Mexico border located at Otay Center Drive and Nicola Tesla Court in San Diego. The Foreign Export and Recovery Team of the California Highway Patrol responded and after a short surveillance the Lexus was recovered undamaged before it crossed into Mexico.
