The owners of a 2014 Acura RDX contacted the Atlanta Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from a parking lot in downtown Atlanta while she was shopping.

The Atlanta PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Acura.

A short while later an Atlanta PD Helicopter on regular patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Acura with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in the aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the pilot saw the Acura moving on a side street in a rural area of the city. The air unit called the movement of the stolen Acura to a ground unit and after a small chase the Acura was stopped and the driver arrested for the theft and transported to the city jail for the theft.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Acura RDX in June 2013 at Acura Carland in Duluth Georgia.
