The owners of a 1999 Honda Civic contacted the Brockton Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

The Brockton PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Minutes later officers from the Taunton Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Honda to an apartment complex in Taunton and recovered the vehicle. Elapsed time from entry of the stolen to recovery was 62 minutes.

The LoJack ®System was installed in the Honda Civic in July 2003 by Honda North Danvers in Massachusetts.
