The owner of a 2008 Nissan Altima contacted the Las Vegas Metro Police Department to report their vehicle was stolen. The Las Vegas Metro PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Nissan.

Shortly after the activation, air support officers with the Las Vegas Metro PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Nissan with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the air support officers tracked the Nissan and found it at an apartment complex.  The air support unit requested ground units to area and the Nissan was located unoccupied.  The Nissan was recovered and released to the owner at the scene.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Nissan Altima in August 2008 at AutoNation Nissan in Las Vegas, Nevada.
