The owner of a 2010 Ford F-150 pickup truck discovered their truck missing from their home. They contacted the Coral Springs Police Department to report their Ford stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Immediately upon activation, while on routine patrol, a Fort Lauderdale Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen F-150 pickup truck on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). The officer began tracking the stolen Ford by following the directional and audible cues on the PTC screen. The officer, along with their backup, located the pickup truck driving in the area of the 6200 block of N.W. 15th Avenue, where they performed a “felony stop” on the Ford and apprehended the driver. The Ford was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping, and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2010 Ford F-150 in October 2010 at Maroone Ford of Margate in Florida.
