This Lexus was taken from an apartment complex in Kent when the vehicle was left running and unattended in the parking lot while the owner went inside to retrieve an item. An opportunistic thief got in the Lexus and drove off.

When the theft was discovered, it was reported to the Kent Police Department who verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

A short time later, a King County Sheriff’s Office deputy, assigned to the City of SeaTac, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following directional and audible cues from the PTC, the Lexus was located in another apartment complex located in the 16700 block of 31st Avenue South in SeaTac. Five people standing near the Lexus were detained for questioning. Stolen property from the Lexus was also located in another car associated with the suspects.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus RX350 in April 2008 by Lexus of Tacoma in Fife, Washington.
