The owners of an Infiniti G35 contacted the Cleveland Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence.
The Cleveland PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Infiniti.
A short while later officers from the Cleveland PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Infiniti with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Infiniti to a residential area of Cleveland.
Because of the quick recovery the suspects were unable to strip the Infiniti or use it to commit additional crimes. The stolen Infiniti was impounded and later returned to the owner.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Infiniti G35 in July 2004 by Herb Chambers Infiniti in Boston, Massachusetts.
