The owner of a 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra 2-door coupe discovered their car missing from their home. They contacted the Hialeah Gardens Police Department to report their vehicle stolen. The responding officer prepared a stolen vehicle report, theft affidavit and had the vehicle’s information entered into the state and federal crime information computers.

Later that morning, while on routine patrol, a Miami-Dade Police Department officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mustang Cobra on their on-board LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC). Shortly thereafter officers from the Florida Highway Patrol and Miami Gardens Police Department picked up the stolen Mustang’s signal as well. The officers began tracking the stolen Mustang by following the directional and audible cues on the PTC screen. The officers converged upon the Mustang in the 2600 block of N.W. 115th Street where it was located abandoned with ignition damage. The 2-door coupe was recovered, towed to the police impound yard for safekeeping and removed from state and federal crime information computer systems.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra 2-door coupe in September 2002 at Mantilia Ford in West Haven, Connecticut.
