The owner of a 2011 Honda CRV contacted the Austin Police Department to report that his vehicle was stolen. The owner had parked his Honda in his apartment complex parking lot and when he returned to it, found it missing.

The Austin PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Honda.

Later, officers from the Austin PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Honda with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the stolen Honda and observed it traveling northbound in the 7900 block of Burnet Rd. Officers were able to stop the stolen Honda and arrest the driver. The Honda was recovered in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Ranger in July 2015 at Leif Johnson Superstore in Austin, Texas.
