The owners of a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban contacted the Houston Police Department to report that they had placed their Suburban for sale and had allowed a subject to take a test drive. The subject failed to return the Suburban and they only knew him as John.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Suburban.

A short while later officers from the Houston PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to the 700 block of West Little York where it was parked and abandoned.  Officers processed the Chevrolet for prints and contacted the owner who asked for the vehicle be towed to his residence. The Chevrolet appeared to be in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Suburban in November 2006 at Mike Calvert Toyota in Houston, Texas.
