The owners of a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Houston Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residence sometime during the previous night in the 8100 block of Amelia Road in Houston, Texas.

The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet pickup.

A short while later deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet pickup with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Chevrolet to 5600 block of Addicks Satsuma. The Chevrolet was stored and the owner notified. No apparent damage to the Chevrolet.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in July 2009 at CarMax #7111 SW Freeway in Houston, Texas.
