The owners of a 2003 Lexus ES 300 contacted the Gwinnett County Police Department to report that her vehicle was stolen from the driveway after they she came out and noticed it was gone. The owner told the police that the Lexus was not locked and a key was inside.

The Gwinnett County PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Lexus.

A short while later officers from the Gwinnett County PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Lexus with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Lexus to an abandoned house.

There were no arrests at the location of the recovery and the Lexus was recovered in good condition. The owner was not aware that her Lexus was equipped with LoJack but was very glad to see that it did.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Lexus ES 300 in May 2005 at Hennessy Lexus.
