This Subaru Outback was stolen during the night from owner’s residence located near SW 5th Avenue & SW Stark Street. When the theft was discovered it was reported to the Portland Police Bureau who verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers, which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Subaru.

Just ninety minutes later, a Portland Police Bureau officer picked up the silent LoJack signal from the Subaru with the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Subaru to SW Ash Street and SW First Avenue in Portland where it was located abandoned and undamaged. The current owner purchased it as a used vehicle and was not aware it was equipped with LoJack.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Subaru Outback in January 2001 at Duane Salerno Auto Group in New Jersey.
