The owners of a Ford F-150 pickup contacted the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and reported that their truck was stolen from an address on East Mulberry.

A deputy verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Just a short time later, officers with the Colorado State University Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen truck with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTCs) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the Park-N-Ride parking lot at I-25 and Harmony.  The truck was unoccupied, undamaged and was returned to the very happy owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford F-150 in 2003 at the request of the truck’s first owner at Garnsey & Wheeler Ford in Greeley, Colorado.
