The owners of a Ford Mustang contacted the Aurora Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen.

A police officer verified the theft and had the vehicle information entered into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mustang.

A short while later officers with the Aurora PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mustang to 18000 block of East Ohio Drive. The Mustang was discovered unoccupied and was later released to the very surprised and happy owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Mustang at AutoNation Ford Mazda in South Fort Worth, Texas, at the request of the first owner of the car 18-years ago. The LoJack has been dormant all this time but activated when it was needed.
