The owner of this Toyota pickup left the vehicle running to warm up in front of his residence located in the 4800 block of 38th Avenue SW in Seattle.  An opportunistic thief got in the truck and drove away.  The theft was immediately reported to the Seattle Police Department who verified the report and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

Just ten minutes later, police agencies in the area received the silent signal from the stolen Toyota on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer (PTC) that is installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  A Seattle Police officer received the signal and began tracking the truck.  Following directional and audible cues he located the vehicle in the 5600 block of 37th Avenue SW, a few blocks from where it was stolen.  It was abandoned and apparently undamaged.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Tacoma in February of 2005.
