The owners of a 2008 Ford Fusion contacted the San Antonio Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their residential driveway sometime during the previous night. The owner advised the officer they had left the keys in the ignition.

The San Antonio PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.

Minutes later an officer from the San Antonio PD auto theft unit was leaving the police department parking lot and picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officer tracked the Ford to a large apartment parking lot in the 2800 block of West Hutchins. The Ford was recovered and the owner notified.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Fusion in July 2008 at McCombs Ford West in San Antonio, Texas.
