The owners of a 2011 Dodge Challenger contacted the Phoenix Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen sometime during the day. The owners advised that when they returned home, the garage door was open and the Dodge was missing. The residence had been burglarized and the Dodge Challenger was stolen with the keys along with other items valued at approximately $32,000.00, from inside the residence.

The Phoenix PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

Twelve minutes later, officers and the helicopter from the Phoenix PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Dodge with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the helicopter and patrol officers tracked the Dodge to the area of 12th Street and Indian School Road in Phoenix.
The stolen Dodge was located occupied and the five suspects observed with the vehicle fled on foot. A perimeter was established and the five juvenile suspects were taken into custody without further incident. The stolen Dodge was recovered in good condition. Approximately $16,000.00 of other stolen property belonging to the vehicle owners was recovered at the scene. The five juvenile suspects were arrested for numerous felony charges. The Dodge Challenger was returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Challenger in April 2011 at Larry Miller Dodge in Peoria, Arizona.
