The owners of a 2010 Toyota Camry contacted the Pima County Sheriff’s Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen.

The Pima County SD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Toyota.

A short time later, officers from the Tucson Police Department and deputies from the Pima County SD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Toyota with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers and deputies tracked the Toyota to the area of Country Club Road and Valencia Road in Tucson.

The Toyota was found unoccupied in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant, approximately two miles from the reported theft location.  The Toyota was processed for evidence and recovered.  The Toyota was later returned to the owners in good condition.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Toyota Camry in December 2012 by Direct Sales.
