The owner of a 2005 Volvo S-40 contacted the Norfolk Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home in the 2800 block Early Street in Norfolk, Virginia.
The Norfolk PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volvo.

A short while later, officers from the Norfolk PD picked up the silent signal from the LoJack® System installed on the stolen Volvo on the LoJack Police Tracking Computers installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC the officers tracked the Volvo to the 800 block Hayes Street in Norfolk, Virginia. At this location, officers located the undamaged and unoccupied parked Volvo. Police recovered the Volvo and notified the owner.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2005 Volvo S-40 in November 2006 at Don Beyer Volvo in Falls Church, Virginia.
