The owner of the Toyota Corolla double parked his car while he went into the building to deliver an order of Chinese food. Unfortunately he made the mistake of leaving the keys in the ignition and the motor running. When he came out he found it missing, apparently some miscreant jumped into his Toyota and took off with it. This was in the Pratt institute section of Brooklyn, confines of the 88 Precinct; he immediately called the police of that precinct.

When the New York Police Department officers arrived, they took a written report for the stolen Toyota. This information was then entered by police in the city, state and federal crime computer which automatically activated the LoJack® System in the stolen Toyota.

A short while later the silent signal was picked up on the LoJack Police Tracking Computer that the police have in their vehicles. This was in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn, confines of the 79 Precinct. The signal was tracked to a residential section of Bed Stuy. The Toyota was located parked on a residential street and officers decided to stake it out. After a short while when no one came for the Toyota the officers took it into custody. The Toyota was recovered in good condition with no damage.

The owner was contacted and he was elated that his Toyota was recovered so quickly, especially in good condition, without any damage. He further stated that he was happy that when he purchased the Toyota he purchased the LoJack® System which was a little over a month since the date of purchase to the time of theft. Further saying he was extremely grateful for that, because if it wasn’t for LoJack the Toyota may never would have been recovered.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2016 Toyota Corolla in December 2016 at Queensboro Toyota in Queens, New York.
