The Mercedes Benz dealer sold the 2014 Mercedes Benz to a customer and later discovered false documentation had been used to make the purchase. When this information was returned to the dealer from the lender the dealer immediately reported the Mercedes stolen to the Houston Police Department.
The Houston PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Mercedes Benz.

Later officers from the Miami Dade Police Department in Miami, Florida, picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Mercedes Benz with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Mercedes to a parking lot where the Mercedes was parked. Officers inspected the Mercedes, verified the theft and notified the Houston PD of the recovery. The Mercedes is listed in good shape. This investigation is continuing by the Houston PD auto theft division.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Mercedes Benz in September 2013 at Mercedes of Houston-Greenway in Houston, Texas.
