The owners of a 2013 Volkswagen Passat contacted the Baltimore City Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen from their home in the 800 block McAleer Court in Baltimore City, Maryland.
The Baltimore City PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Volkswagen.

A short while later officers from the Baltimore County PD picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Volkswagen with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles and helicopters. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Volkswagen to the 1700 block Belmont Avenue in the Woodlawn area of Baltimore County, Maryland. At this location, detectives recovered the parked and unoccupied Volkswagen.

The LoJack® System was installed in the 2013 Volkswagen Passat in September 2013 at Heritage Imports in Owings Mills, Maryland.
