The owners of a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado contacted the Chandler Police Department to report that their vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot of their place of employment.
The Chandler PD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Chevrolet.

Thirty minutes later, officers from the Chandler PD and troopers from the Arizona Highway Patrol picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Chevrolet with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers and troopers tracked the Chevrolet to the area of the I-10 and U.S. 60 interchange.

The stolen Chevy pickup was found unoccupied and parked in the parking lot of a restaurant. Detectives from the Arizona Vehicle Theft Task Force responded and conducted surveillance on the stolen Chevy. No suspects were observed returning to the Chevy so detectives later recovered the vehicle and processed it for evidence. The Chevy was recovered in good condition with minor damage to the ignition. Suspects also cut a wire leading to a small satellite antenna mounted on the vehicle roof. The Chevy pickup was towed from the scene for safekeeping and later returned to the owners.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Chevrolet Silverado in April 2007 at Midway Chevrolet in Phoenix, Arizona.
